With 3 Double Crossers in the penalty box, Cruel Whip and Julia Rosenwinkel were forced to do all of the heavy lifting. The Manics were able to keep Cruel Whip back, leaving a huge opening for Rose Feratu to bring home the bacon with a half time score of 92-15.

what this paragraph doesn’t convey is that, for a few moments, i was the only double crosser on the track and, even though the situation looked hopeless, i stood my ground and was able to get enough of a hit on rose to cause her to step out of bounds.

and those silly manics backed up with me as rose scrambled to return to the track. julia jumped back into the mix and bridged me back even further.

it was like the smartest most crucial thing i’ve ever done in a bout—stopping what easily would have been a grand slam, otherwise. truly, truly, my finest moment on the track.
